Over the hills and far away Baby E came to play! It was so great to celebrate this little guy’s first birthday with him. We had a wonderful adventure cake smash with fluffy clouds and rolling mountains…..

Baby E’s Cake smash was a lovely surprise from his Godparents who have recently been to the studio for their newborn session. What a lucky boy, and a lovely gesture from the one’s who love him. Speaking to his Mummy during the pre-session consultation she spoke about the wonderful birthday party he had and how great it was to be surrounded by all their friends and family to celebrate her little boy turning one.
During the consultation over the phone Baby E’s mummy talked me through how they had decorated his nursery bedroom. One wall was decorated with snow-covered mountains in greys, and green, set against a deep blue sky. His bedroom furniture was all white and minimalistic which finished the room off perfectly. She was thrilled that our new exclusive spring hand painted backdrop fitted so perfectly with the theme of his room. She said ” I really love the adventure, mountain backdrop I have seen on your facebook as Ezra’s bedroom is decorated in a similar way!”
So we created a wonderful set of fluffy clouds, and mountains that touched the sky. Keeping to the cooler side of the colour wheel to match baby E’s bedroom decor. I love how whimsical it felt, just with the simple styling of the white clouds and white letters.

Baby E, got really stuck into his cake smash. As soon as I gave him a wooden spoon he bashed away merrily. So much so, when we took the spoon away to get some shots without it, we had a view tears. Not for long of course because by then he had discovered all the yummy cake underneath the beautiful mountains iced onto his cake by our wonderful cake maker Lorna of Ezzie Cakes.
Next came tub time!! We had the biggest smiles ever!! Baby E loved splashing and sliding in the tub. He giggled with delight and smiled away as a captured the most brilliant shots of him. His Mummy said “He has a really cheeky and funny personality so I would love to capture this!” I think we did just that, and his beautiful personality shined through all his giggles.
