The proudest big sister, and her brand new baby brother is just the sweetest thing to see.

I was joined in the studio by two very special people to me. My niece and my brand new nephew!! It’s been a long six weeks waiting for his photo session, and I’m glad I got to photograph him before he got any bigger!!

It’s been a long wait for big sister A for her new arrival! Who am I kidding, it’s been a big wait for us all. After the long 10 months (he was 10 days late!! but surprisingly was born, and now shares his birthday with his grandma.) little A didn’t keep us waiting as he arrived in just over an hour from start to finish of his Mummy’s labour!! I would say his Mummy was relieved about the quick labour, but both new parents were a little shocked by how quick he arrived! He has now been nicknamed the “baby in the bath” from the Midwives at Derriford Hospital. As his Mummy didn’t even make it down to the delivery room and he arrived in the bath tub on the ward.

“Siblings are the people we practice on, the people who teach us about fairness and cooperation and kindness and caring – quite often the hard way.”

Pamela Dugdale

Big sister A has taken to her roll like a duck to water!! From attempting to change nappies, to giving the best, and biggest cuddles. She beams with pride when she talks about her little brother, and shows him off proudly to everyone she meets. They both did so well during their photo session. Big helper A helped me by getting her baby brother comfy in each of his poses, and loved helping me style the set-ups.

I can’t wait to get a photo of all 7 cousins together once he’s a little bigger.

Little A is 7th baby in our family, and it feels like he’s always been here. I look at him and see parts of all of his cousins in him. He’s also getting chunky just like his big sister did. I can’t wait to get a photo of all 7 cousins together once he’s a little bigger. My boys adore him, especially my youngest. Which is so precious to see.

We kept to a simple colour pallet of cool hues. Grey’s and whites to match A & A’s home. I love how the images capture their connection and big sister A’s love for her new brother. I’m the proudest Auntie of these two beautiful beings, and so honoured to be able to capture these precious memories for my family.

Welcome to our family sweet baby boy…
